Last Saturday, May 14th, Gavin and I celebrated our very first anniversary! I can't believe its already been a whole year; it seems like we just got married only a couple months ago. Everyone said that the first year of marriage is the hardest but that it gets easier from there and if that's true, then bring on the rest because this past year has been the best year ever. I don't mean to brag but if anything, it's been easier, probably because I married the best guy ever! Sometimes I feel bad for all the other girls in the world that I stole this guy, but really, not that bad...at all. I just happen to be the lucky winner! yay! go me!
Gavin took the day off on friday so we could start celebrating early. We just spent the day together doing things we did the first time I came down to Ridgecrest, which is pretty much when we started dating. We went to Leroy Jackson Park and picnicked underneath the same tree we had our very first picnic and we went to China Garden, the first place we went out to dinner in Ridgecrest.
Good food.
On Saturday, we drove to Riverside to tour the Mission Inn area.
It was really cool with lots of interesting and old buildings. There was a fantastic farmers market that we bought some carrots at and they were delish! I was just missing my gummy worms I'm constantly craving.
We went to an art museum and we found the biggest antique store of my life. It was huge and my mom and sisters and grandma and aunt Terri would be insanely jealous. By the time we got out of it, we were STARVING! That's how big it was.
So...we found this fantastic Mexican restaurant called Tio's Tacos. The food was great but it was the gardens around this place that made it so cool. I don't even know how to describe it. hmmm...organized junk turned into art and craziness?
This place was full of statues made of bottle caps and barbies and huge buildings made of glass bottles. It was really weird but really cool at the same time.
These pictures are for my dad. NACHOOOOOOOOO!
We went to the Redlands Temple on the way home which was the perfect way to end a perfect day.
This was definitely my favourite anniversary to date.
