week 28

Dear baby boy,
This week Mommy and Daddy celebrated their first anniversary.  This means one year ago Mommy and Daddy got married in the Salt Lake Temple where we were sealed together for eternity.  That makes Mommy and Daddy very happy because that means that you will be with us for eternity.
Mommy and Daddy want you to know that they love each other very much and that we love you very much too.  We are a family forever.
Love,
Mommy

Happy First Anniversary!

Last Saturday, May 14th, Gavin and I celebrated our very first anniversary! I can't believe its already been a whole year; it seems like we just got married only a couple months ago.  Everyone said that the first year of marriage is the hardest but that it gets easier from there and if that's true, then bring on the rest because this past year has been the best year ever.  I don't mean to brag but if anything, it's been easier, probably because I married the best guy ever! Sometimes I feel bad for all the other girls in the world that I stole this guy, but really, not that bad...at all. I just happen to be the lucky winner! yay! go me!
Gavin took the day off on friday so we could start celebrating early.  We just spent the day together doing things we did the first time I came down to Ridgecrest, which is pretty much when we started dating.  We went to Leroy Jackson Park and picnicked underneath the same tree we had our very first picnic and we went to China Garden, the first place we went out to dinner in Ridgecrest.
Good food.
On Saturday, we drove to Riverside to tour the Mission Inn area.
It was really cool with lots of interesting and old buildings.  There was a fantastic farmers market that we bought some carrots at and they were delish! I was just missing my gummy worms I'm constantly craving.
We went to an art museum and we found the biggest antique store of my life. It was huge and my mom and sisters and grandma and aunt Terri would be insanely jealous.  By the time we got out of it, we were STARVING! That's how big it was.
So...we found this fantastic Mexican restaurant called Tio's Tacos.  The food was great but it was the gardens around this place that made it so cool.  I don't even know how to describe it. hmmm...organized junk turned into art and craziness?
This place was full of statues made of bottle caps and barbies and huge buildings made of glass bottles.  It was really weird but really cool at the same time.
These pictures are for my dad. NACHOOOOOOOOO!

We went to the Redlands Temple on the way home which was the perfect way to end a perfect day.
This was definitely my favourite anniversary to date.

week 27 ( a little late)

Dear Baby Boy,

I love you.  Yesterday Daddy and Mommy got to see you on the ultrasound.  You've gotten so big!  The doctor says you are about 2lbs, 7 oz. now, which is right where you're supposed to be.  For the first time we got to see you in 3D so we can tell what you look like.  You look like Mommy!  You've got adorable chubby cheeks, a cute little button nose and plump little lips.
You kept smiling and you even gave Daddy and Mommy a thumbs up.  Its good to know you are healthy and happy in Mommy's tummy.
Love,
Mommy

So Cute!

My super sweet friend Tara is really good at making jewelery.  One day I noticed this adorable necklace she was wearing with her two very cute girl's initials on it.  I was pretty much really jealous and even more when she said she had made it.  It was so darn cute.  Well, then she made me this! I'm in love with it.
I love the silver with the pearl and I'm really into initials or anything monogramed these days, especially "G"s.
It just so happens my husband's name starts with a G and our baby boy's name starts with a G.
Isn't Tara awesome? Thanks Tara! I LOVE it!

Project of the day

This is called a "Bapron". Get it? It's a bib for baby but it's more like an apron. My friend Tara shared a link with me on how to make them and I decided my baby boy must have one.
I made his reversible and put his initial on both sides.

I love it. Thanks Tara!
I also made these for dinner tonight; everything will turn to ash in my mouth from now on because these things are amazing.  They're my version of a Chicken Gyro on homemade, might i repeat homemade whole wheat pita bread.  My life has been changed. Would you like your life to be changed too? yes? well I posted the recipe on my sister's and I's food blog found here http://allredgirls.blogspot.com/2011/05/terriyaki-chicken-gyros.html  Try them. You can thank me later.  Maybe now I can start a talk show and be friends with Oprah and Dr. Phil.

Week 26

Dear Baby,
Mommy is not good at taking pictures of herself; what matters is that you're in it.  This week Mommy thinks she felt you have hiccups for the first time, it was hard for her to tell though.  Mommy was sitting in church, watching you move her belly and then all of a sudden you started moving only every 3 seconds and then you'd stop and then you'd move again in another 3 seconds. Mommy was excited.
We were very busy this week.  We made homemade strawberry jam for Daddy.  He loves jam with his peanut butter.  Hopefully when you can eat food, you don't eat as much peanut butter as Daddy.  If you do,  Mommy will have to sell all of her pretty shoes to buy you and Daddy peanut butter.
Mommy also made a mobile for you to look at while you are laying in your crib.  Mommy and Daddy have been very busy trying to get everything ready for you.  Your cute little cloth diapers are ready to be pooped in, your car seat is installed in the car and your stroller is waiting for you to take on a walk.
Mommy and Daddy love you and can't wait until next week when we get to see you on the ultrasound. Keep moving and growing.

Love,
Mommy
