a little adventure to Beverly Hills and Santa Monica Beach

Last Saturday we took my adorable, single little sister to the airport so she could leave us for the snowy Canadian North. However, before she flew out of LA, we thought we'd show her around a little. Our first stop, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.  I don't know why, probably something to do with my lame computer but the picture only sho up if you click on the little boxes.
This place is for the rich and famous. Correction: the VERY rich and famous.
We found cars like this
and stores like this
and this
and sweet architecture like this.
Can you tell she's a tourist?
Our next stop was Santa Monica Pier
Is Gavin really that much taller than me?
good news, we still love each other. lots and lots and lots and lots (even though he's a Lakers fan).
Seagull chillin at the pier
And this lovely lady.  I miss you Sarah Jeanne! It was so much fun having you around for the last 2 months. I'm so proud of you and am so happy to be your sister. I love you!

surprise!

Since the beginning of my pregnancy, I've known what we were having.

I've been sure of it from before the time I even looked at the little pink plus sign on the pregnancy test. We're having a girl!
So last tuesday, March 2nd at 11:00 Gavin and I went to my 18 week ultrasound.
I couldn't help myself but to deck out in pink, complete with painted fingers and toes (i never paint my fingernails and I never wear pink).
I was so excited to see how much she had grown. The last time we saw her we just had to trust the doctor that the glob he was showing us on the screen was a baby.
So we got into the office, got my belly all gooey and had a look at our perfect baby boy...um WHAT?!!?????!!??!!
Doctor: "This is looking like a boy...I think this is a boy...this is definately a boy...you two are having a boy."
It took me a while to get over the shock and the realization that I'd need to come up with a different color scheme for the nursery, put away all the cute dresses I've been buying, along with the quilt I finished and the one I started, oh and all the that adorable fabric I bought to make a crib set, (there's more things, but I don't really want to think about them), after all that and I may or may not have shed a tear or two, I'm SO excited!
So there you have it. SURPRISE! We're having a perfect, healthy baby boy! And just look at those cheeks! He is SO adorable!
