surprise!

Since the beginning of my pregnancy, I've known what we were having.

I've been sure of it from before the time I even looked at the little pink plus sign on the pregnancy test. We're having a girl!
So last tuesday, March 2nd at 11:00 Gavin and I went to my 18 week ultrasound.
I couldn't help myself but to deck out in pink, complete with painted fingers and toes (i never paint my fingernails and I never wear pink).
I was so excited to see how much she had grown. The last time we saw her we just had to trust the doctor that the glob he was showing us on the screen was a baby.
So we got into the office, got my belly all gooey and had a look at our perfect baby boy...um WHAT?!!?????!!??!!
Doctor: "This is looking like a boy...I think this is a boy...this is definately a boy...you two are having a boy."
It took me a while to get over the shock and the realization that I'd need to come up with a different color scheme for the nursery, put away all the cute dresses I've been buying, along with the quilt I finished and the one I started, oh and all the that adorable fabric I bought to make a crib set, (there's more things, but I don't really want to think about them), after all that and I may or may not have shed a tear or two, I'm SO excited!
So there you have it. SURPRISE! We're having a perfect, healthy baby boy! And just look at those cheeks! He is SO adorable!

  1. LOL- I knew you wanted a girl, but I didn't know it was that bad! Don't worry, you'll get one eventually- but you're right, you'll love your little boy too! So happy for you!

  4. Yay! Congratulations! Boys are so fun! (although I must warn you busy and dangerous) And you will have an older brother for all of your girls that you will eventually get. And don't worry, your girls will be just as dramatic then and they would have been now. ;)

  7. This reminds me of my first pregnancy! I always pictured a girl first- I hadn't bought any girl things though but when we went into the ultrasound and they told us it was a boy my hubby teared up with joy and I was excited but ........ I was like what do I do with a boy? But of course you fall in love with them and boy stuff is really cute and fun and they are a blast! Now we have two boys and I really want a girl but I am okay with all boys! Any names yet? There are so many cute boy names!
